A two-day field visit and monitoring programme was conducted by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Anjaw at Kibithoo Circle of Anjaw district on 19 and 20th September 2026, to assess the performance of agricultural and horticultural crops and monitor various natural resource management practices.
        During the visit, the KVK teams consist of Khoisnam Naveen, SMS, Agronomy, Ugarsain Sangwan, SMS, LNWME, Satveer Yadav, SMS, Horticulture and Keshab Chandra Gogoi, Technical officer assessed crop growth, plant health, nutrient and weed management in agricultural crops of Maize, popcorn maize, finger millet, dhaincha, and horticultural crops like kiwi, apple, beans, pomegranate. The team also monitored mulching practices for moisture conservation and weed suppression and inspected half-moon terraces as a soil and water conservation measure for reducing runoff and soil erosion in the hilly terrain.
        The two-day programme also provided an opportunity for direct interaction with farmers, during which farmers shared their field-level experiences, constraints and requirements related to crop production and natural resource management. During the visits The KVK scientists addressed their queries and provided location-specific technical guidance with Khoisnam Naveen (SMS, Agronomy) helped addressed the problems related to agricultural crops and Satveer Yadav (SMS, Horticulture) help in providing solutions to Horticultural crops. Ugarsain Sangwan (SMS, LNWME) sensitized the farmers about the role of mulching in conserving soil moisture, moderating soil temperature, reducing soil erosion and improving soil health, particularly under the hilly conditions of Anjaw district. The visit aimed to strengthen the adoption of improved agricultural technologies and promote sustainable and climate-resilient farming practices in the remote areas of Anjaw district.
